Using data supplied by six sophisticated sensors, the microcomputer Engine Control Module (ECM) precision adjusts ignition timing, air/fuel mix and other vital settings. In fact, in recent tests, HPDI showed up to a 35% increase in fuel economy, at speed, over a conventional EFI. Yamaha's famed reliability is also enhanced. The ECM ensures instant, trouble-free starts. Internal-opening injectors resist carbon buildup. Strong-forged pistons, a unique piston ring design, a new gear case with lower water pickups for enhanced cooling, an outstandingly efficient alternator that keeps batteries always charging while running - the list goes on.
